59 days and 5 hours to go!

Transport and Logistics

As local experts, we're here to help you navigate to both venues. Whether you're driving or using public transport, we've got you covered with detailed information below.

Warning

Important ULEZ Information

Please be aware that both venues are within the ULEZ zone. Please check to see if your vehicle incurs a charge. Please see Paying the ULEZ charge - Transport for London for further details and ways to pay.

Sacred Heart Church

Parking at Sacred Heart Church (Sacred Heart Wimbledon, Edge Hill, Wimbledon, London, SW19 4LU).

  • The church has its own small car park. We will allocate these spots on a needs basis. Please get in touch if you would like a spot. Number plates have to be registered in advance.
  • The Downs (road parallel) has free on road parking spaces available, as does Arterberry Road, Ethelbert Road, Delamere Road, Albert Grove, Crescent Road, Stanton Road and Southdown Road. These are all within a 10 minute walk.
  • As always, please do check road signs, as restrictions can change, and please make sure you park safely and don't block driveways.

Public Transport

  • 20 minute walk or 5-10 minute bus journey (57, 131, 200) from Wimbledon Station (National Rail, Thameslink, District Line, Tramlink)
  • 36 minute walk or 15-20 minute bus journey (57, 131, 200) from South Wimbledon Station (Northern Line)

Travelling between ceremony and reception

  • It is just over 5 miles between our ceremony and reception venues. This is about a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic.
  • Public transport options take about 45-60 minutes door to door.
  • Direct trains (7-11 minute journey time), should run between Wimbledon and Surbiton frequently (subject to rail strikes/engineering works). Contactless payment card/phone/oyster card is likely to be the cheapest payment option.
  • Each venue is about a 10-20 minute walk from the railway station, or a 5 minute bus journey.
  • Alternatively, an almost door to door bus option is available. Get the 57 or 131 from "Darlaston Road" bus stop towards Kingston. Get off at the last stop, "Fairfield Bus Station". Then either do a picturesque 25 minute walk along the river or walk across the road to "Eden Street" and get a bus towards Surbiton (71, 281, K2, K3). Get off at "The Crescent" or "Maple Road" bus stops, followed by a 6 minute walk. This journey will cost £1.75 in total. Contactless payment card/phone/Oyster are the only way to pay on the buses.
  • Uber and Bolt (app required) are easily available in both areas, as are a number of different pre-bookable mini-cab companies. Drop off at "Westfield Landing Car Park, KT6 4JA".

Arriving at Raven's Ait Island

  • Once you reach the "Westfield Landing Car Park", please walk down the "Queen's Promenade" towards the steps where the boat will pick you up. This is the closest place to park, but there are limited spaces and there is a charge for this car park.
  • Hart's Boatyard Car Park is also very close by with plenty of spaces. This again occurs a fee.
  • Our recommendations for free parking are the following roads: Catherine Road, Grove Road, Cadogan Road, St Leonard's Road, parts of Maple Road, Cleaveland Road, Westfield Road, The Mall. These are all within a 10 minute walk away.
  • The Crowne Plaza Hotel (KT6 5QQ) car park offers complimentary parking to all wedding guests, even if not staying at the hotel. Please register at the hotel reception on the day. This is a 15 minute walk away.
  • Please note the Thames Sailing Club car park is private property, please do not park there unless you want a hefty fine!

Getting home

  • There are bus options towards Kingston and on to Wimbledon running 24hrs a day (281, 57, N87). Wimbledon Station has links to the Tramlink, District line and Northern line (from South Wimbledon Station).
  • Last trains from Surbiton to Waterloo are usually around 00:15, as are trains towards Guildford and Woking. Please check these in advance as they are subject to change.
  • Uber/Bolt are often available. This can be trickier to get for longer journeys at that time of night.
  • Nearest taxi rank is at Surbiton Station.
  • We rarely use pre-booked cabs as there are so many other options, however, we have used "Clocktower Cars" before who have been reliable and good value. A quick Google will show many other local options with varying reviews.
