105 days and 10 hours to go!

Frequently Asked Questions

We've compiled answers to some common questions about our special day. If you need any further information, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

Can I bring my children?

We know everyone has different preferences and logistical circumstances in terms of childcare. We have invited babies and children of selected family and friends, however, we would love for our guests to be able to let their hair down and have a child-free evening if they so wish!

So, if your child is invited but you would prefer not to bring them, for all or part of the day, (e.g. bringing them for ceremony/drinks reception only), we won't be offended! Please get in touch with us to let us know your preferences and we will endeavour to accommodate.

We have a children's menu available for any child over 1 years old, up to and including 12 year olds. Snacks will be available throughout the day!

Warning

Safety Notice

Please be aware, our reception is on an island in the middle of the River Thames, which is ONLY accessible by boat. There is a sufficient barrier (fence) between the edge and the river on the main lawn, however, there are small areas on the island e.g. where you embark the boats, without/with only a partial barrier. Please make sure any child (or intoxicated partner/friend) is closely supervised at ALL times.

How do I get to and from the island?

The island has its own flotilla of boats available to us throughout the day. They will do shuttle rides of guests across the river from Westfield Landing point on the Queen's Promenade (View on Google Maps).

Each boat can accommodate around 20 guests per trip. The ride is only a minute or 2 in duration. The final boat off the island will be at midnight.

If you have danced too hard too soon, and need to head off early to bed, boats can be hailed earlier in the evening to take you back to shore (just speak to a member of staff).

If you think you will definitely need a boat earlier in the evening (e.g. to drop off children with grandparents, or needing an early night), please let us know in advance, if possible, so we can ensure a helmsman is available at that time!

We won't be able to accommodate guests going on and off the island constantly throughout the day unless essential. There will be plenty of food and drink available to you on the island so you shouldn't need to go ashore!

Prams are able to go across on the boat.

Do you have a gift list?

Your presence on our special day is more than enough, however, if you would like to get us a gift, please see our gift registry page for ideas here.

Alternatively, any contribution towards our honeymoon would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Is there a dress code?

Not really! No fully white dresses please.

Swimwear should NOT be required, although, if you are planning on falling in the river, please bring your own life jacket.

When will I be fed?

Canapes should be served from around 3pm, followed by the wedding breakfast at around 5.30pm. Wedding cake and evening snacks will be available later in the day.

We recommend having a decent breakfast/brunch to keep you going in the morning!

Will it be indoors or outdoors?

This is weather dependent. We are hoping to have our drinks reception out on the lawn followed by the wedding breakfast and dancing in a marquee.

Can I throw confetti at the newlyweds?

Our church has a strict "no confetti" rule. We will be doing our confetti line on arrival to the island!

Is there parking?

Yes, but it is a little complicated. Being in London (albeit zones 3 and 6), there is no such thing as ample parking, however, we have put together a "Transport and Logistics" page for you.

The good thing is that there are many electric charging points around for those with electric vehicles! Please be aware, both venues are within the ULEZ zone.
